Cambodia Cultural Heritage


Cambodia has a lot of fabulous heritage, warm friendly people, an untamed wild landscape, and is a member of ASEAN. The beautiful and extensive temple ruins at Angkor, now a UNESCO Heritage site, represent the glorious Khmer civilization and one of the most spectacular historical sites in Asia.

Angkor Wat

The Khmer Empire produced some of the world's most magnificent architectural master piece in the area known as Angkor. Angkor Wat temple is the biggest religious monument, which was built by the Khmer king 1000 years ago, in addition the temple is well known for the spectacular view of the sunrise upon it and because its construction makes it seem bi dimensional.

Angkor Thom & Bayon City

Angkor Thom, covers an area of 9 km², within which are located several monuments from earlier eras as well as those established by Jayavarman and his successors. At the centre of the Angkor Thom city is Jayavarman's estate, Bayon Temple covered in the mysterious gigantic faces etched into the stone walls.

Ta Prohm

Ta Prohm is the modern name of a temple at Angkor, originally called Rajavihara, found by the Jayavaraman VII. It´s located approximately one kilometer east of Angkor Thom, this temple is surrounded by jungle and adorned by the cotton trees which grow within it. The best time to explore this temple will be early morning before the mass of crowds arrived.

Banteay Srey

Banteay Srey was built of red sandstone with elaborate decorative wall carvings which are still observable today. Banteay Srey is located in the area of Angkor in Cambodia. It lies near the hill of Phnom Dei, 25 km north-east of the main temple of Angkor Thom.

Phnom Kulen

Phnom Kulen is an impressive sandstone plateau in this otherwise flat area. The mountain is considered to be the birthplace of the Khmer empire and a sacred place for the Cambodians who comes in drove on the weekends. Upon arrival at the top of Phnom Kulen, you will discover stone carvings in a riverbed and visit several hidden pagodas. One of the main attractions is a waterfall where you can take a refreshing bath.
